Subject: [Sc-Ir] Gov. SHute Petition
Memorial to Gov. Shute

This is a list of men, "Inhabitants of ye North of Ireland" who
signed appointing the Rev. Mr William Boyd of Macasky as their 'agent'and
assuring the governor of Massachusetts of their 'hearty Inclination'
to transport themselves to that 'excellent and renowned Plantation
upon our obtaining from his Excellancy suitable Incouragement."
It is believed that not all came. It is reprinted in Parker's History
of Londonderry,pp 317 to 321. This book is in www.ancestry.com . (The
history of Londonderry : comprising the towns of Derry and
Londonderry, N.H.. Parker, Edward L.. Boston. Perkins and Whipple. 1851. )

I placed in square brackets what might be the more modern spelling of
the surname once so it could be found searching. I only did this once
so scroll on down through the whole document.

26 March, 1718
