Susan Elder Vallejo is sending me photos from her trip
to Tennessee. I was especially happy to see her photos of
Ann Elder Brooks POE's Gravestone in Knoxville.
Ann had helped many of us to find ELDER documents,
and she sponsored 2 TN cousins who match
DNA of our "FRANKLIN CO PA" group.
Susan has given me permission to post photos on my webpages.

Widow of the late William Lawrence Brooks and daughter of James Reece Elder and Louisa Long Elder.
A descendent of one of Tennessee's founding families, Mrs. Brooks was particularly interested in the study
and preservation of the native arts and crafts of East Tennessee.
A native Knoxvillian, Mrs. Brooks and her husband and family lived in Oak Ridge during the forties. Mrs. Brooks said this was a most exciting time in history and the lives of all who were involved.
They made many close friends during the early years in Oak Ridge.
After her husband's death in 1949, Mrs. Brooks moved back to Knoxville with her three daughters.
Mrs. Brooks enjoyed a most successful business career and was a well known local antique dealer.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by three daughters, Ann Elder Brooks Poe of Maitland, Florida, Caroline Brooks Wilford of Berwyn, Pennsylvania and Pamela Brooks Turley of Memphis, Tennessee, and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery Thursday for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel."
