I have info, including hundreds of record transcriptions, on the Elders who came to Perry, OH...basically narrowed down to two groups:

1. Children of William Elder (m. 1st Ann WHEELER, m. 2nd Jacoba LIVERS)
and
2. The three brothers John, Robert and William who came to Perry County from MD in 1818.

If you have any Perry County links in your Elder line, there is probably something for you there. Enjoy.

This info is compiled at http://www.jackson8.com/genealogy.html

My own goal is to learn more about the family and descendants of Thomas Elder (son of Nathaniel Elder and Johanna LIVERS) and Ellen MCLAUGHLIN, especially their daughter Hannah.

Happy hunting, all!

Rick.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for posting on this Forum!
Sure will be fun if the DNA Kit #17
from Emmitsburg MD matches some of
the other ELDER DNA kits on Donna's
DNA Results page, posted here:
http://www.familytrail.com/elder/DNAresults.html

Another reference to Perry Co OH
in the Logan Co OH history:
http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Logan/LoganMcArthur.htm

ABRAHAM ELDER, Jr., physician and surgeon ; Huntsville ; is the oldest practicing physician in this place, and has a large and lucrative practice ; he was born April 20, 1821, in Somerset, Perry Co., O.; his father, Abraham Elder, Sr., was a native of Lancaster Co., Pa., and was there married to Jane Johnston (he served in the war of 1812), and moved from there to this State, and lived a while in Perry Co., and came here in 1833...
(Presbyterian)...
